Brandy and Monica have been announced as the next guests on Verzuz. More than 20 years after facing off on their 1998 hit “The Boy Is Mine,” they’ll reconvene for a livestream from Atlanta on Monday, August 31, at 8 p.m. Eastern.
Since launching in the spring, the Verzuz series has featured a number of heavyweights going head-to-head with their hits. Prior editions have featured Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, 2 Chainz and Rick Ross, DMX and Snoop Dogg, and Bounty Killer and Beenie Man.
Brandy released B7, her first album since 2012’s Two Eleven, at the end of July. Monica’s most recent album was 2015’s Code Red, which featured guest appearances from Missy Elliot, Timbaland, Lil Wayne, and Akon.
