Today marks the second annual Lou Reed Tai Chi Day, and to celebrate, Laurie Anderson is hosting a livestream discussion about her late husband’s beloved martial art practice. Anderson will be joined by Iggy Pop, Tony Visconti, Reed’s Tai Chi teacher Master Ren, and more for a talk focussing on how to engage with Tai Chi practice during the COVID-19 pandemic. The guests will also discuss an upcoming book by Reed titled My Tai Chi The Art of the Straight Line. Watch the livestream below.
Last month, Anderson was joined by ANOHNI for a 9/11 episode of her radio series Party in the Bardo on the Wesleyan University station WESU. Iggy Pop recently starred in a Gucci ad alongside Tyler, the Creator and A$AP Rocky. The campaign was directed by Harmony Korine.
