Future Islands played a so-called “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” in the latest instalment of NPR’s beloved series. In truth, the four-song set took place neither at a desk nor anybody’s house. The trio instead gathered close to home at Baltimore’s Carroll Baldwin Memorial Hall, where they were backdropped by a redundant stage and drum kit. Watch them play “Hit the Coast,” “The Painter,” “Thrill,” and “Balance” below.

Three of the four tracks appear on the band’s latest album, As Long As You Are. “Balance” is taken from 2011’s On the Water. Since releasing As Long As You Are in October, Future Islands have performed on Seth Meyers and Colbert, and remixed Matt Berninger’s “One More Second.”
