WiseGuy Frank is more than just a cool stage name – the dude really has deep thoughts about all sorts of
topics, from why we’re all here to what personally drives him to be the best he can be.
You might call the Miami-based hip-hop artist an enthusiast of learning.
“All my life I’ve believed you have to be teachable in order to grow, and once you stop being able to
learn, you are no longer growing,” he said.
Born in the Overtown area of Miami, Benjamin Davis grew up living and breathing music and still does.
Tupac Shakur was an early influence as well as rappers Lil Boosie/BoosieBadazz and Kevin Grant.
With his raw and authentic music he calls “ghetto gospels,” or “undiscovered Miami,” WiseGuy Frank
sings about the trials and tribulations of his life, from the tougher days to the days where love wins.
“Music is therapeutic to my everyday life,” he said. “It’s a creative outlet where I get to use my words to
express myself.”
He’s signed with KinggKong Records, and is getting good attention for “Cut Throat,” a piece featuring
Boosie Badazz.
“The inspiration behind this project came from several experiences in my life, and I was able to give a full
circle of emotion,” he said. “I talk about the world being a jungle and being prepared for that, like getting
money and enjoying life with a pretty woman.”
WiseGuy Frank calls himself blessed for the opportunities he’s had. His faith remains important.
“I got to be able to be on a song with a legend, and I never saw that coming,” he said.
He tells fans to start getting excited for great things coming in 2021.
“You know, you just keep pushing it — grind hard,” he said. “I’m going to make good music and make
sure my family stays straight.”
