Coachella festival, considered one of the biggest music events in the world, will get under way again next year, after the pandemic forced it to close its gates.

Revellers will be able to head back to the Indio desert near Palm Springs in April 2022, organisers have said.

The 2020 event was meant to take place in April that year, before it was pushed back to October, and then to April 2021.

It was then cancelled completely, as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Goldenvoice, the event’s promoter, has revealed that the world-famous gathering will take place over two weekends next April – 15-17 and 22-24, with tickets going on sale on Friday.

Stagecoach festival, which is a country music event, will also go ahead on the same site later in April 2022.

Before its cancellation, the 2020 event was due to be headlined by Rage Against The Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean.
