John Carpenter’s original 1978 Halloween was what made Jamie Lee Curtis a star, and she’s consistently returned to the franchise as Laurie Strode throughout the course of her decorated career. David Gordon Green’s take on the character made her a recluse who was controlled by her trauma, allowing Curtis to give an extremely emotional performance.
