Jon Butcher graced the stage of Rumi Event Space in NYC singing “Some Kind of Wonderful”, and that’s exactly what he was…only better! A seasoned, accomplished, and astonishing performer Butcher quickly captivated the audience with his sophisticated “future blues” style, powerful vocals and extreme guitar playing.
Having recently released his new solo album “Special Day”, Jon Butcher is among the rising solo artist of our decade. However he is no stranger to the stage as one of the influential musicians to come out of Boston in the 1980’s. He has performed with greats including B.B. King, The J Geils Band, Leland Sklar and many others.
Jon traveled from Boston with musician Glenn Bowie to perform at Soho Johnny’s 9/11 benefit and shared the stage with artists including Kim Sledge from Sister Sledge, Joey Belladonna lead singer of Anthrax, Felipe Rose from the original Village People, Leon, from Leon and the People’s, Allied Artist Music Group’s superstar Rocky Kramer, world renown pianist and composer Randy Edelman, Solo artists April Rose Gabrielli, Kulick, ARO, DRMAGDN, No Mansfield from Revolushn, Mickey Burns, Profiles TV Host, Kreesha Turner, Michelle Shocked, Billy Hess, Tym Moss and many others. The event via Let Me Help, Inc benefitted “Operation Warrior Shield”, an organization that provides wounded vets with service dogs.
