Tucked on the plains of Montauroux, just off the zigzagging roads of Provence, lies the former home monsieur Christian Dior — Le Château de La Colle Noire. It is at this sanctuary that the “Miss Dior, 12 Women Artists” exhibition is happening now till November 1.

Capturing and reimagining the spirit of Miss Dior, 12 exceptional artists from around the world were given carte blanche to immortalise this emblematic fragrance in original works of art. The result? A dozen sculptures celebrating everything about the Miss Dior fragrance, from its botanical ingredients to the iconic bow and more importantly, the essence of femininity.

“It’s so exciting to see 12 different women all interpret the same brief, but the outcome is wildly different,” said Bethan Laura Wood, the UK designer who is part of the 12 women invited.

“[Dior can be] very floral, very traditionally feminine, but you can also look at the structuring of the garments to see it’s very graphic. So I wanted to make something that spoke to those two sides of a woman.”

Along with the masterpieces placed at different corners of the Château de La Colle Noire, visitors to the exhibition will also get the opportunity to view some of Monsieur Dior’s personal belongings and his workspaces. For artists, this presents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work in the same space as the eminent designer.

“There’s nothing like being able to physically come and sit in the beautiful garden and discover the little nuances of this house… it’s really lovely to see the pieces here, and also to see the conversation that the team do have chosen to have by placing the different works in different spaces,” Wood added.
