Founded in 2006 by Jamie Marie Hannigan, an advocate and activist, the company is affiliated with various local and global charitable organizations and provides artists opportunities to consistently and creatively campaign for social change. Jamie and her company provide healing through dance workshops for children at St. Peter’s Hospital for their craniofacial center’s girls support group and ASTEP, an organization that connects performing and visual artists with youth from underserved communities in the U.S. and around the world to awaken their imaginations, foster critical thinking, and help them break the cycle of poverty. Stage Stars has also produced shows and events with The Joyful Heart Foundation, The Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer, The MIPH Walk to End Homelessness, The American Red Cross, various youth Pride Centers and countless others.

During the recent pandemic, Stage Stars was one of the companies at the forefront of the arts community finding innovative ways of holding theatrical events socially distanced, outdoors with sold out performances of The Rocky Horror Show and Clue at Schaefer Farms in rural Flemington, NJ “making theater work” with the times. Most notably organizing Create Change: A peaceful protest through the arts in support of BLM movement.

Jamie directed a new musical, Mary Howling Queen Of The Crazy Ones at the Thespis Theater Festival in NYC about bullying in schools that helps children and teens cope with conflict in a positive way. One of her greatest passions lies in specializing in developing adaptive techniques in various areas of the arts such as dance and theater, to aid those with different abilities in creating art.

Stage Stars is well-known for their live, interactive music and dance theatrical experiences, recently for their frequently sold-out Sunglasses asses At Night ‘80s Show, The Velvet Stardust Rock Show and newest endeavor, The Starlight Jazz & Show. Recognized prominently for their wild and energetic live renditions of The Rocky Horror Show, Stage Stars has produced an acclaimed opening run at The Producers Club in NYC and musical tour of the live show since 2011.

The Velvet Stardust Rock Show:

The Velvet Stardust Rock Show is a one-of-a-kind, immersive, live rock band theatrical experience. Dancers get down and dirty in a burlesque battle with the Velvet Stardust band in a rock and roll crash smash of energy and magnitude.

Electrifying choreography meets classic cabaret styling with routines incorporating contemporary, hip-hop, tap, jazz, ballet, Spanish dance, breaking and more. These highly reputed, trained dancers who have shared stages with mega celebs, seamlessly melt into a menagerie of flow arts with hoops, silks, glow props and fire, in this sparkling, sizzling, smoke show.

Power-house female lead vocals are backed by a magnetic makeup of musicians born of the NJ/NYC live rock scene. Dramatic drums and bad-ass bass comprise the rhythm section, killer keys and horns elevate the enigmatic sound led by electric guitar.

The show features a wide range of rocked-out covers of both bangers and ballads from artists like ACDC, Joan Jett, Heart, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Lita Ford, The Misfits, David Bowie and an eclectic array of surprises like Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Spice Girls, Wynona Carr, Elvis, Skid Row and The Rocky Horror Show.
