For Tribeca Record Label President John “SohoJohnny” Pasquale and for the who’s who sold out celebrity audience in attendance on April 29, 2024 at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, it was a spectacular extravaganza both on stage and at the after dinner and dance gala. The line-up went beyond astounding as one iconic artist after another took the stage to honor Clive Davis and celebrate the New York Pops 41st Birthday.
The rockstars included: John Mellencamp, Dionne Warwick, Deborah Cox, Busta Rhymes, Babyface, Carlos Santana, Art Garfunkel, and his son, Valerie Simpson, Patty Smyth, Ray Parker Jr, Diane Warren, Avery Wilson, Rob Thomas, Melissa Manchester, the legendary Barry Manilow, and the New York Pops Orchestra with conductor Steven Reineke, just to name a few who are under the influence of Clive’s fabled “golden ears.” Clive wearing a dazzling, sequin viridescent jacket sat in the VIP box where political icon Nancy Pelosi was seen by his side along with his partner Gregg during this musical tribute of a man who rocked the music industry for over 6 decades.
SohoJohnny’s love of music brought him to this thrilling, once in a lifetime event at Carnegie Hall. Clive Davis is the record industry’s most innovative and influential executive, so it was fitting that the President of Tribeca Records be present to honor him. The soundtrack of Johnny’s life began in his Bronx garage where a silver disco ball hung from the ceiling as a symbol of what would later become his lust for music and the belief that music could help heal mankind through the efforts of Let Me Help, Inc. a foundation he started after the death of his mom from Covid.
