TV on the Radio Might Be Up to Something

It looks like TV on the Radio could be on their way back. The long-dormant band posted a teaser image on its social media pages and updated its website for the first time in a long time. Little else is known for now, so stay tuned.

TV on the Radio issued their last studio album, Seeds, in November 2014, and their most recent concert took place at Madison Square Garden in March 2019. The band also hasn’t toured in earnest since 2018 when it played shows in the spring and summer, including a Brooklyn concert for the 10th anniversary of Dear Science.

In the years of TV on the Radio’s inactivity, frontman Tunde Adebimpe has still done work musically and on screen. He recently appeared in the summer blockbuster Twisters, and he’s also portrayed or voiced characters in Noah Baumbach’s domestic drama Marriage Story, HBO’s Perry Mason, the animated series Tuca & Bertie, and more.

Bandmate Kyp Malone has also been acting, starring alongside Josh Peck and others in 2021’s Doors. He’s released multiple albums with John Dwyer, too, including Bent Arcana and Ritual / Habit / Ceremony.

The group’s David Andrew Sitek remains a go-to producer who has lately worked with Chelsea Wolfe, Weezer, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Run the Jewels, and others. In 2020, he launched a new band called the Neverly Boys.
