Come April 2025, you can head to London to experience Cartier’s upcoming exhibition at the historic Victoria & Albert Museum. The exhibition is the first major show in the United Kingdom dedicated to the jewellery maison in nearly 30 years, and will present over 350 objects.

As WWD reports “items will be lent to the exhibition by King Charles III, U.K. and international museums and private collectors”. The show, slated from 12 April to 16 November next year, allows visitors to take a trip through Cartier’s long history as one of the world’s strongest jewellery and watch houses. The French Maison was founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier but it was his grandsons, Louis, Pierre, and Jacques, who established the brand as a major player in the luxury business all over the globe. The trio expanded the brand’s footing worldwide, opening up branches in New York, London and Paris. This move allowed the brand to reach a wider group of luxury clientele, including those in the worlds of music, art and cinema.

Make no mistake, the brand was already in high standing and beloved by royals—the house was famously referred to by King Edward VII as “the jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers”. But this exhibition with the V&A Museum will feature a curation of precious jewels and gemstones from not only V&A and Cartier’s own collections. The massive show will also display pieces from the Royal Collection, lent by His Majesty The King, as well as items from both UK and international museums and private collections. Iconic watches, clocks and other objects will also be available for viewing during the show.

Tickets for the exhibition will be available soon.
