On Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 4, There are No Heroes, Only Villains

Things begin falling to hell on Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 4.

Dwight realizes he’s made a mess of his life, Cal’s thrown a curveball, and Chickie may be right behind Cal regarding his men.

We’re only four episodes into the season, and things are already out of control.

Dwight Reconsiders His Decisions

Killing Bill’s second-hand man has given Dwight pause.

He realizes that if he’s just not been a jackass and agreed to a deal with Bill Bevilaqua, things probably wouldn’t have gotten out of hand.

But they did get out of hand on Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 3, and he’s a little out of touch with just how far things have gone by Tusla King Season 2 Episode 4.

Joanne isn’t so oblivious, and she’s scared. She has a right to be. Bill wants Dwight dead, and I don’t think he’s the only one.

Dwight has taken a long, hard look at his life. He’s a screwup. Despite being raised right by a caring mother, he doesn’t have a history of making good decisions.

Mitch gives Dwight too much leeway when he compares Dwight to an explorer or thrill seeker who always needs another fix. If his actions didn’t affect others, that would be great. But they do, and it isn’t.

Tyson Steps Up on Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 4

Things are so bad with Dwight that he doesn’t even feel good about talking to his … what are they? His gang? Are they his supporters? His employees?

I can’t quite grasp why they stick around other than the money. So, I guess they’re employees who feel obligated to stay since he’s a gangster, aka a gang.

But it felt icky when Dwight stepped into Tyson’s shows to shake them up about their situation on Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 4.

Bodhi was the first to toss his hands into the air. He’s rather ordinary in that regard. The idea of being hunted doesn’t sound great to him. Shocking.

And Tyson isn’t ready to lead. His scene with his dad broke my heart. I would give anything for my dad to be around to show me a thing or two about my car. That was his way of showing me he loved me.

Tyson’s dad reaches out, and he’s met with his son’s face in his phone. My sister does that when we’re together, and it hurts.

If that’s how he treats his father, I wouldn’t want him standing in my place with my guys.

It Seems Everyone Wants Dwight Dead

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Bill Bevilaqua put a hit on Dwight. Well, kind of. He expressly stated he wanted Dwight dead.

(Brian Douglas/Paramount+)

Of course, he told Chickie, who Bill thinks is working with him and not against him. Chickie doesn’t work with anybody other than himself. Bill will find that out soon enough.

He may not realize it, but by Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 4, Chickie is hanging on by a thread.

First, Goodie betrayed him. The poor guy is sticking guns in the mouths of Uber Eats drivers, believing he’s on the kill list. He probably is, but damn.

Then Chickie had too much to drink and started airing his dirty laundry in front of his guys.

They were loyal to Pete. Chickie recalled brutally killing him with a gleeful tone. He played it off like he was talking about Dwight or Goodie, but that didn’t land well.

Vince might get in bed with Bill, and that will pull everyone even further into the abyss.

Cal Is In Over His Head

If Dwight is reflective on Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 4, Cal loses his grip on his operation.

It turns out that the guy has some morals.

Dwight’s presence in Tulsa has given Cal the chance to act macho. He made a move on Margaret and called in Bill to cause trouble.

But people in his employ have been making moves under his feet, and the hot water he’s in began boiling as the episode drew to a close.

He’s a small-time guy unwittingly playing in the big leagues. Sure, he’s successful and has much to show for his business. But Cal was relatively protected in Tulsa for the very reasons Dwight brought up to Bill.

Nobody cared about Tulsa as a territory until he arrived and made a big dent in local business.

Tulsa Season 2 Episode 4 Tornado Watch

Cal probably happily paid his 20% here and there to be left alone and do what he wanted. But he chose the wrong people to bring his criminal dreams to life.

Jackie arrived on the Tulsa King scene like a tornado.

He’s using Cal’s marijuana fields to grow Poppies for heroin. And he pulled the rug out from under Cal by killing two people Cal only meant to threaten.

There were a lot of witnesses. They could be scared enough to snitch and try to make deals for themselves. At least by doing that, Jackie won’t gun them down where they stand.

This will change things for everyone, including Manny, who accepted more money from Cal.

Out of Place on Tulsa King Season 2 Episode 4

In this episode, the trip to the wind farm felt wrong. Dwight has put everyone in danger. Why is he getting high on his way to make a deal?

It was another ick moment for me. He can be introspective and unaware simultaneously, which isn’t a good look.

Adding humor to these situations is a real balancing act, and they didn’t achieve it here. There’s too much at stake for Dwight to let loose.

He can’t wear blinders to his reality. If he loves his family, then he needs to get his head out of his ass.
