Mind Tuning Multimedia, Inc. and King Melvin are presenting their First Semi-Final entertainment competition and inviting classy clean comedians, Singers, Songwriters, Spoken word artists and poets to vie for prizes, exposure and fun in support of “Music Brings Life” a non-profit 501-C3 corporation dedicated to raising awareness and blood for people battling sickle cell disease and other transfusion dependent diseases. It will be held on Thursday October 24, 2024 8-10;30 PM at the iconic Producer’s Club Theater @ 358 West 44th Street in NYC. Tickets and registration are $35.00 which includes 1 drink. Prizes and cash prizes will be awarded.

Honored guests include Keenan “Special” Bristol, the co- producer of the heart wrenching film “Students Are Heroes: A Sickle Cell Warrior’s Story” and the film’s cast members. The film is dedicated to bringing awareness of the shortage of blood donations for victims facing sickle cell disease by African-American, Latino and Caribbean donors. Their designated goal is to collect 10,000 pints of blood.

The film follows a high school student Jordana, an athlete who finds herself in the hospital after a collapse during track practice. She is diagnosed with a sickle cell crisis and faces a critical situation by the development of antibodies from previous blood transfusions, which complicates her search for a compatible donor. The hospital unfortunately does not have the specific blood type required for treatment. Jordana is acutely aware that individuals from black and Latino communities who are more likely to have her compatible blood are underrepresented in blood donations.

Her condition becomes more and more critical and her only hope, lies in the possibility that high school students may come forward to donate their blood. The students step up to the plate and Jordana receives the treatment she prayed for.

Tickets for this event are limited and can be secured by calling 929-237-8147 or 917-576-8727 or 347-478-4868 or by emailing mtmlenpress@gmail.com Artists that wish to compete can also register by using that information.
