Earth,’ ‘Chad Powers,’ & More

Some die-hard Disney fans might remember when Disney World decided it would be a great idea to make an Alien-themed ride in Magic Kingdom. Well, as many know, the encounter with a Xenomorph was not a success for the family-friendly theme park company. However, now that Disney owns Hulu and has successfully produced another film in the world of facehuggers and Xenomorphs (Alien: Romulus), the company is ready for another hit of Ridley Scott’s world of intergalactic terror. In a new mega-teaser for Disney+ and Hulu’s upcoming series releases, the next big installment in the Alien saga, Alien: Earth, showed off some of the scares coming to audiences.

Fans of Scott’s iconic sci-fi world are bursting with excitement over the fact that director Noah Hawley is taking Xenomorphs to uncharted territory: Earth. The official plot synopsis details a classic Alien set-up: “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.” This is what fans have been dreaming, and terrified, of since the original films release in 1979. The question of what would happen if a Xenomorph somehow got to Earth is finally about to be explored.

Disney+ and Hulu Are Sitting on Some Hot New Releases

There’s a series for every type of viewer in the newest teaser from Disney and Hulu. Alien: Earth is certainly a highlight, but other exciting upcoming releases for the streaming platforms were also shown off in the fast-paced trailer. For starters, MCU fans finally got a glimpse of Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as the ionic energy-powered superhero. The MCU show is set to be released in December.

Audiences also got a good look at Glen Powell as Steve Zahn in the upcoming comedy television series created by Powell and Michael Waldron, Chad Powers. Inspired by Eli Manning’s 2022 ESPN+ docuseries Eli’s Places, the series follows a disgraced college quarterback named Russ Holliday as he disguises himself as Chad Powers to attempt to revive his football career. And who could forget the King of the Hill revival? The Hulu animated series will see propane salesman Hank Hill, his substitute-teacher wife Peggy, and their aspiring comedian son Bobby back in the neighborhood, and a couple of decades older.

Another highly anticipated release, Percy Jackson and The Olympians Season 2, was also featured in the teaser. It’s clear that Disney+ and Hulu are excited about their 2025 lineups, but are you?
