Thankfully, Paramount+ is adding over 60 movie titles in August 2025 to its ever-growing catalog of new and classic films. Whether you are looking for an engaging thriller or a heartwarming drama, these are the must-watch films being added to the streaming platform, with a complete list of all titles below.

Bruce Cogburn (Guy Pearce) is a literary figure surrounded by controversy after his only book leads to a 13-year-old killing his classmates using his work as his inspiration. After 25 years of self-imposed isolation following the events, Bruce is sent a series of letters from a fan demanding to meet him for an interview and pressing him on why he did not follow up on his novel, The Infernal Machine. The mysterious letters lead Bruce down a spiral of paranoia as he sets out to confront his harasser.

This will be the first time the psychological thriller is available on streaming, as it was previously available only to rent or buy. The Infernal Machine is streaming on August 1.

‘Event Horizon’ (1997)

Streaming on August 1

Set in the year 2047, Event Horizon follows a crew sent to investigate the titular spaceship, which had previously disappeared while experimenting deep in space. Upon boarding the ship, they discover the gruesome remains of the previous crew and begin to uncover the horrific outcome of the experiment while also suffering from violent hallucinations.

A flop on release, Event Horizon has garnered an endearing following and became a cult favorite, inspiring numerous tributes in video games; the popular franchise Dead Space drew heavy inspiration from the film. The blend of sci-fi and horror is perfectly realized, backed by some outstanding performances, including Sam Neill, who undergoes a wide range of nightmarish mental and physical transformations throughout the film. Event Horizon is streaming on August 1.

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Sigrid Nunez, The Friend follows writer and teacher Iris (Naomi Watts) as her life gets upended when her mentor and friend, Walter (Bill Murray), leaves her with his beloved 150-lb Great Dane, named Apollo, after his death. Iris, who lives in a no-dog condo and considers herself more a cat fancier, gradually opens up to the large dog and forms a bond that allows her to deal with past grief.
