New York, NY & Worldwide — This year, one day of peace simply isn’t enough. As declared unanimously by the United Nations and embraced by 193 member countries, the UN International Day of Peace 2025 will unfold across an entire weekend of global action, reflection, and unity. From Friday, September 19 through Sunday, September 21, 2025, millions worldwide will participate in events designed to pause the world for peace, culminating in Climate Week NYC beginning September 22.

With over 2 billion people already aware of Peace Day (according to McKinsey & Co.), this year’s observance aims to build an even larger wave of awareness. New York City will lead the call with a citywide meditation and Moment of Silence at Noon EST on September 19 at City Hall, hosted by Mayor Eric Adams, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, and community leaders across youth, veterans, seniors, faith, and public services. From there, a chain of synchronized actions will ripple across 24 time zones worldwide, calling for peace, compassion, and climate consciousness.
The central message is clear: Peace is not passive. It lives in our choices, our communities, and in the urgent care we extend to one another and the planet. From ceasefire calls in conflict zones to grassroots acts of kindness, this weekend will unite people across borders in one shared mission.
Participants are encouraged to:
- Observe a Moment of Silence at noon in their local time zone on September 21, 2025
- Plant a physical or virtual Peace Pole at www.plantpeace.worldpeace.org
- Create human peace signs, host prayer or sound healing circles, and lead community cleanups
- Share messages of unity and hope using #PeaceDay2025

Adding to the spirit of the celebration, rising music sensation Prince Parker, often described as a Jimi Hendrix reimagined for a new generation, will be among the artists performing as part of the Peace Day festivities. With his electrifying guitar artistry and soulful stage presence, Parker’s music embodies the fusion of rebellion and hope that continues to inspire new audiences. His participation underscores the event’s mission to unite people not only through silence and action, but also through the universal language of music.
As the world gathers—on streets, in schools, across cities, and in cyberspace—the call is simple yet profound: Cease fire. Plant peace. Act with unity. And let the sound of music, voices, and silence together mark a new beginning for humanity.
