Those Salem elevators are dangerous, especially if you’re refusing to admit your feelings for someone.
It wasn’t that long ago that Days of Our Lives stuck Chad and Cat together in a hospital elevator, to Julie’s never-ending disappointment.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-22-25 promise another elevator mishap as part of a big storyline that will plunge the entire town into darkness.

Karma Comes Calling For EJ (Maybe)
The last elevator mishap occurred due to EJ’s insistence on cutting corners, supposedly to save money in the hospital budget.
He eliminated the elevator maintenance staff, leading to a situation where EJ refused to come in to deal with a wonky elevator at the hospital, leading to Chad and Cat being stuck overnight.
So if anyone deserves to get stuck in the elevator, it’s him, though I’d prefer not to have the same story all over again.
This time, EJ is the DiMera stuck in the elevator, and the blonde with him is Belle, but how different will this story be from the last one?
We again have two people who profess not to have feelings for each other — or, at least, Belle says she hates EJ and is done with him forever.
After being stuck together, what are the chances they don’t kiss, if not have full-on sex? These types of situations have been Days of Our Lives’ go-to steamy scenario for years, so why should this one be any different?

EJ and Belle Aren’t The Only Couple Stuck Together During A Blackout
I don’t know what causes Salem to go dark, though it may have something to do with Gwen.
A scene in the spoiler video shows her hanging around a construction site as the lights go out, so perhaps she cuts a wire, either intentionally or accidentally.

This leads to various problematic situations, including the EJ/Belle one, but it’s good news for one couple.
Xarah fans, this is your week. While stuck together, Xander and Sarah seal a new agreement with a kiss.

This Would Be Great News If Only There Weren’t Yet Another Secret Hanging Over Their Heads
If Xander and Sarah are going to be together, they need a different type of story.
Since their first meeting, their story seems to be that every time they get together, Xander does something stupid and violent, and Sarah is so disgusted she breaks up with him.
Rinse, wash, repeat.
It’s like an annoying, alternative version of the cycle of abuse, with Sarah forgiving Xander and the two of them having a honeymoon period before Xander does something illegal in the name of protecting Sarah, and she kicks him out of her life.
This time, Sarah’s interest in taking Xander back is built on the foundation of knowing that he wasn’t the one who beat up Philip.
Except… he WAS the one who did that, and Philip has decided to help cover that fact up.
Does anyone not see where this is going?

A year ago this week, Xander almost broke Brady’s legs with a baseball bat, so Sarah had reason to believe he beat Philip practically to death.
Even if he really had been innocent, it was not ridiculous for her to suspect guilt here.
The idea of her getting back with a guy she fears is murderously violent, only to break up with him again when she eventually finds out that she was right, however…
Do you love reading my one-of-a-kind opinions about Days of Our Lives?
I need your help. I can only write more articles like this if lots of people comment on them and share them with their friends. Could you be one of the people who does that?
At this point I’m on Team Move-On… unless Sarah can finally live with Xander as he is.
Not the man she wishes he was. Not the man she thinks he can become in therapy. But the man he is today.

She should know by now that Xander always makes a poor choice sooner or later, and that many of those choices involve violence.
She doesn’t believe he would hurt her or Victoria, which is debatable because if he lost his temper with a teenage, rebellious Victoria, I’m not sure how he would act.
But taking that at face value, her decision should be based on whether she can accept the next screw-up, and if she can’t, move on.
Don’t Even Get Me Started on Sophia’s Latest Scheme
After Holly, for some reason, decides to let Sophia crash in her dorm room during the blackout, Sophia pays her back by pulling back the covers and Holly’s nightie before snapping some photos.
These revealing photos don’t show all that much, but that isn’t the point.
This isn’t a prank or a cruel trick. It’s sexual assault, and Days of Our Lives needs to make that clear.

Even though we have new writers, I don’t have any faith that the soap will do that.
Sure, Holly will be embarrassed and upset, but every time something like this happens, it’s written as if the problem is that someone played a cruel joke, without going so far as to label it what it really is.
Sophia was already more or less irredeemable, but this story pushes her over the line, as far as I’m concerned.
If Sophia wants Tate, instead of all of this garbage, she should tell him where his baby is and then, no matter what he does, lean into the bond they supposedly share to manipulate him into spending time with her.
That would be annoying, but it wouldn’t be Fatal Attraction, Salem edition, which is not something anyone needs.

Also, why don’t any Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 9-22-25 mention the DNA test?
I’d like to settle this rumor about Tate not being the father and move into the next phase of this story.
A Few Other Notable Spoilers
- Marlena again passes out, plus earlier in the week, she gets troubling news. I hope this health storyline moves forward soon. Marlena’s passing out is barely a spoiler when it happens so much that it seems to have taken over for her being kidnapped.
- Maggie will confront Tony this week, likely about his interference with Victor’s legacy. This should be interesting, especially if it leads to a reveal that this is not Tony.
- Johnny and Chanel are optimistic about the adoption, but Sophia plots against them. This is more evidence of Sophia’s poor judgment, especially since she had been eager for them to adopt before the baby was born.
- Julie supports Foster, the bookstore owner. This really is giving me widow romance vibes. And why is he still in Salem when the whole reason he wanted to sell was so he could be with his grandchildren on the other side of the country?
