Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 6 Spoilers: Wes Could Risk It All

When there’s a murder by Eel River in Sheriff Country, Wes will risk it all to get some answers.

It sounds like this is personal to Wes, so he’s acting this way. He is fiercely protective of the people close to him, and it appears there are many like that in this town.

However, Mickey and Boone will need to work the case together to get to the bottom of the murder, and they have to do so before Boone leaves Edgewater for good.

A Murder Investigation

Both the promo and synopsis for Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 6 make it clear that Edgewater has another murder to investigate.

Mickey and Boone will need to work together, as this murder comes across as more personal than business.

We can see from the images that someone has “Time to Sell” written on their window, indicating they’re not welcome in the town.

Look, this is a small town where everyone knows everyone, so surely they’ll know who hates this person enough to write something like that on the window.

There has to be a connection, right?

I get the feeling that like the first couple of cases of the week, the case in Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 6 is going to be a lead-in for bigger personal storylines.

We’re slowly getting to know Wes, with Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 5 telling us that he has a bigger social circle than it initially seemed, and he certainly likes to reminisce about the past.

We also know that Wes is willing to take matters into his own hands, and usually in a hilarious way, such as pretending to have the murder weapon to make it harder for the DA to bulldoze Skye.

The problem here is that Wes isn’t messing around, and he isn’t doing this knowing that charges against him probably won’t stand.

He wants to figure out who killed a friend, and it is likely to put him at odds with both his daughter and the DA.

Let’s not forget that the DA is looking for any reason to arrest Wes, and Mickey will want her dad to stay out of trouble.

The Town vs. Mickey

Once again, we’re seeing the town turn on Mickey.

And this is likely due to Wes’s involvement in the murder investigation.

People don’t like Mickey; we get that.

But it comes up in every episode, and it’s getting old.

The odd thing with this story is that nobody has outright tried to stop Mickey from being the sheriff.

Sure, there have been comments here and there, and there were some questions when Skye was arrested for murder, but there has not exactly been a riot outside the station or people telling her that she’s not their sheriff.

So this ongoing storyline seems to be all in Mickey’s head — likely her insecurities growing up in Deadwater.

In the end, Mickey proves time and time again that she is the right person for the job, and that’s the way it’s sure to stay in this episode.

Boone’s Storyline is Still a Question Mark

It’s not like the town can have their other choice, Boone, as he’s leaving for Oakland, or is he?

We don’t know what’s going on with this storyline, as there is no mention of it in the synopsis, and that’s despite the previous episode’s twist.

When a body is discovered along the Eel River, Sheriff Mickey Fox and her team launch a homicide investigation that rattles the heart of Edgewater; Wes risks everything to uncover the truth about the murder.

Look, that reveal of his wife at the end of Sheriff Country Season 1 Episode 5 came out of nowhere and made no sense, but we’re sure to get something about that in Episode 6.

The episode’s title, “Exit Interview,” could connect to the murder investigation, but it could also reflect Boone’s desire to leave Edgewater behind.

Something is sure to keep him in town, and it’s likely going to be the way Mickey is able to connect with people.

There’s a lot about the town of Edgewater that Boone has connected with, even if he is just getting to know people, and he won’t find that in a city like Oakland.

The question then is whether Boone will leave his wife, or whether she will come to Edgewater to be with him, as there is clearly a much bigger story at play here.

Sheriff Country airs on Fridays at 8/7c on CBS.
