NBC’s The Hunting Party returns in January, and we’re sitting on pins and needles, wondering about this batch of escaped serial killers and the team’s personal lives.
The Hunting Party Season 1 ended on several cliffhangers, leaving the trio’s lives in flux, and us wondering how they get reinstated on base.
There are several things The Hunting Party Season 2 must clarify quickly, beginning with whether Oliver Odell survived and who the team now answers to.

Did Oliver Odell Survive Being Poisoned by Jenna Wells?
The main question is whether Oliver survived being poisoned by Jenna Wells, who relished playing games with Bex and Oliver.
NBC has been cautious about leaking any information or photos about Nick Wechsler so that no one knows Oliver’s fate until at least the Season 2 premiere.
Oliver Odell is a pivotal part of The Hunting Party, and if he dies, it will affect Bex since he was her former partner in more ways than one.
It may give her the extra push to hunt for these killers and even find Jenna Wells in retribution.

We’re still holding out hope that he survives because the team will already have to answer to a new leader.
Getting a new base commander seems like adding insult to injury.
Who Does The Hunting Party Trio Answer To?
We know that the trio is hunting serial killers again from the promo. Some of them look even creepier than last season.
However, Attorney General Mallory shut the team down when Jenna Wells got loose, saying they put people in danger.
So, we’re wondering how the team gets reinstated. Is the government desperate because of another killer and no one knows how to catch them, or have things cooled down?
From experience, we suspect that Bex and her team won’t trust whoever is in charge. It took weeks for Hassani and Shane to trust each other.
We love their “them-against-the-world” mentality, which may reemerge initially if many guidelines are reinstated.
Bex hates rules when they apply to hunting killers.
Which Doctor Is In Charge of the Pit Experiments Now?
We’ve seen some vicious doctors and scientists administering experiments at the Pit, ranging from Dr. Malek to Dr. Dulles to James Whitmore.
Two of them are dead, and Dr. Dulles is nearing death. His memory has failed. He remembers very little, so he wants to go peacefully, not cause more harm.

That means there will likely be a new doctor who’s been treating the Pit patients. Hopefully, the experiments worked better on this batch of prisoners.
We can’t wait to learn who has been in charge of the pit and these experiments. It may give us some clues into these prisoners’ psyches and what kind of treatments occurred in those silos.
What Will Jennifer Morales ‘ Role be in The Hunting Party Season 2?
Jennifer Morales often seemed overlooked, except for a few moments in The Hunting Party Season 1.
There are so many changes, including Oliver’s fate and the base’s new boss, that could dictate her new role.

She’s more than proven herself, so we’d love to see her take on a more active role in researching cases both on base and in the field.
Everyone had personal reasons for joining the Pit task force, and hopefully, we’ll learn Morales’s soon.
Is it merely about hunting these serial killers, or does she know someone in the Pit, too?
When Will Shane Learn the Identity of His Birthmother, and How Will This Secret Affect His Relationship with Bex?
We really want Shane to learn his birth mother’s identity, but currently, only Morales has the audio recording, and she doesn’t know why he had one of Col. Lazarus.
We’d love to think that Morales could easily share these results with Shane because we love their sibling-like bond, but I suspect that with new people in charge, things may get complicated.

Col. Lazurus probably doesn’t want anyone to know she has a son, and I still think she arranged for Shane to work at the Pit.
When Bex learns the truth, that could affect things between her and Shane. She’s leaned on him as her safe spot, and we know Bex hates secrets.
While he has no idea who his parents are, he knew they were connected to the Pit and should have revealed that.
This will be soapy for them.
