Days of Our LIves Spoilers for the Week of 4-13-26 Suggest That Stephanie’s PTSD Storyline Will Take a Ridiculous Turn

I should have known that Days of Our Lives couldn’t sustain a realistic PTSD storyline for long.

So far, Stephanie’s panic attacks, flashbacks, difficulty with being touched, and fear of being kidnapped again have been consistent with real-life PTSD, but that probably won’t last.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-13-26 suggest that Stephanie will turn to Jeremy for comfort, and it will get physical.

Is Stephanie’s PTSD Story About To Become An Unrealistic Love Triangle?

I’m not saying that PTSD never leads to someone turning to the wrong person for comfort, but in this case, it seems incredibly unrealistic.

Yes, Jeremy was the one who was there for Stephanie when they were both held captive by Owen, and it’s understandable that this experience has bonded them.

However, first of all, either Stephanie is triggered by being touched by a man, or she isn’t.

It doesn’t make a lot of sense that Alex touching her would trigger memories of the kidnapping, but kissing or being touched by Jeremy does no such thing.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

Of course, real triggers aren’t necessarily about actions — smells, sights, and sounds can also trigger flashbacks or panic.

So it is possible that something else about Alex triggers Stephanie in a way that Jeremy’s presence doesn’t.

However, if the writing doesn’t make this clear — and I’m almost certain it won’t, because that’s too subtle and psychological for Days of Our Lives — it’ll come off as Stephanie only being triggered by Alex’s touch, for no apparent reason.

Additionally, Stephanie’s history with Jeremy should make it harder for her to be physical or sexual with him, even if they did bond over the kidnapping.

Jeremy physically abused Stephanie. He lost his temper and shoved her under the water of a hot tub, holding her down while she couldn’t breathe. That trauma can’t and shouldn’t be erased by the fact that this time, he wasn’t the aggressor.

Besides, it seems like Stephanie’s PTSD was only a means to an end: creating the love triangle among Alex, Stephanie, and Jeremy that the writers wanted all along.

We could have gotten there without this unnecessary kidnapping if that was the plan, especially since Jeremy is slated to leave at the end of the month, making this story short-lived and likely pointless.

Plus, while I’m no fan of Alex, his being shocked that surprising Stephanie doesn’t go well seems stupid, considering he already knows that she’s not herself, startles easily, and insists on locking all five deadbolts every time she comes in the house.

Meanwhile, Kristen and Sophia Are Up to No Good

Kristen is supposed to reveal her plan to Sophia, while Sophia has a plan of her own that she needs help with.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

I have a feeling that Sophia’s plan will include kidnapping baby Trey and possibly trying to give him back to Leo.

I’m sure Dmitri would love to frame Leo for taking the baby, now that Leo has rejected him and Dmitri has turned evil toward him.

I’m not interested in any babynapping story, whether or not it involves Dmitri. I want Sophia caught and sent either to jail or back to Bayview (and not in the same ward as Rachel this time).

However, it does seem like this is where we’re headed, so I guess I have to make peace with the inevitable.

Johnny, Chanel, Tate, and Holly are all scheduled to leave later in the year, so whatever happens is likely the beginning of the end of their time in Salem.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

I wouldn’t be surprised if Johnny and Chanel decide to leave Salem with Trey and their other baby (before or after it is born) so that they don’t have to deal with Sophia anymore, and Tate and Holly might go to Paris for the same reason.

This all sucks. Sophia is the one I’d like run out of town, not the objects of her obsession. But it is what it is, so this is likely where we are heading now.

I’m curious as to whether Kristen will go along with any plan to kidnap the baby, though.

Kristen isn’t above abducting anyone when it suits her purposes, but her anger right now comes from being forcibly separated from Rachel thanks to the judge’s order to commit Rachel to Bayview.

She might draw the line at taking someone’s baby, though she might also feel the baby is really Sophia’s, so this could go either way.

(Peacock/Screenshot)

This should create a moral dilemma for Salem’s most conniving Dimera diva, which might be fun.

Speaking of Moral Dilemmas…

Theo is going to tell Marlena his secret, which is smart because legally, she can’t tell anyone about Lexie’s existence.

I wasn’t a fan of this storyline when it began, but now that Lexie is here, I’m glad we’re getting on with it.

The last thing we need is five months of Lexie in that coma before EJ gives up on reviving her.

Abe is going to be furious when he finds out what EJ is up to, and Theo will be equally furious when he finds out that Abe joined forces with EJ to manipulate him into giving up the job at DiMera Enterprises.

Plus, there’s no telling how either of them will feel once they find out that Paulina knew about Lexie before anyone else did and kept her mouth shut.

Talk about explosive drama!

Additionally, Javi will straighten Gabi and Rafe out about a few things before confronting Leo this week, and Dmitri is still determined to ruin Leo’s life, so this should be interesting.

And best of all, Maggie will finally tear into Kate. I can’t wait for this confrontation — Maggie is usually sweet, but she’s far tougher than she looks, and she doesn’t put up with nonsense.
