Some moments in entertainment come full circle in ways that no one could have predicted. On July 24 at the Bellmore Movies & Showplace, audiences will witness one of those rare occasions as legendary entertainer Tony Orlando and acclaimed composer-songwriter Randy Edelman stand together in person for the first time in more than five decades.
Their story began in the early 1970s, when Tony Orlando recognized the talent of a young Randy Edelman and helped bring him to the attention of Clive Davis’ record label, giving the gifted songwriter one of his earliest opportunities in the music business. While each man’s career followed an extraordinary path, their personal reunion has been decades in the making.

Since those early days, Randy Edelman has become one of the world’s most celebrated composers, creating unforgettable scores for films including The Last of the Mohicans, Dragonheart, Gettysburg, The Mask, Ghostbusters II, Billy Madison, Kindergarten Cop, and many more, while also writing songs recorded by some of music’s biggest stars. Tony Orlando, meanwhile, became an American entertainment icon with timeless hits, sold-out concerts, television success, and an unwavering commitment to supporting veterans and charitable causes.
Now, more than 50 years after their paths first crossed, they will share the same stage once again in what promises to be an emotional evening celebrating friendship, music, and the remarkable journeys that connect generations of artists. It is a reunion that honors not only their shared history but also the enduring relationships that define the entertainment industry at its very best.
A special thank you goes to Paul Eccardt of Paul’s Pianos for his generous support in providing the piano that will help bring this unforgettable evening to life. His commitment to musicians and live performance plays an important role in preserving the artistry of concerts like this one.
