The 78th annual Golden Globe Awards have been pushed back due to COVID-19, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced. The film and television celebration, which typically occurs in January, will take place on Sunday, February 28, 2021. The ceremony will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who co-hosted back in 2013, 2014, and 2015. The Golden Globes will air live from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California from 8-11 p.m. Eastern on NBC.

The new Golden Globes date is the original date of 2021 Academy Awards, which were postponed to April 25. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who conducts the Golden Globes, said in a statement that “To accommodate both domestic and international film and television productions, the HFPA will provide further guidance around eligibility, voting period, and revised nominations announcement timing in the coming weeks.”
