The first Princess Y78 in Phuket

Boat Lagoon Yachting has had a busy start to the year following the arrival in Thailand of five hulls from Princess’s line of Y Class Motor Yachts – a 72, Y75, two Y78s and an 88. The Y78s are making model premieres in both Pattaya and Phuket respectively, the 72 was handed over to a client in Pattaya, while the Y75 and 88 were delivered to Phuket, home of Boat Lagoon Yachting’s headquarters.

The Y78 is one of Princess’s new-look fleet of Y Class yachts and made its international debut at the Southampton International Boat Show in September 2019. The owner’s stateroom is midships on the lower deck and has a private staircase, while forward are three guest cabins all with ensuite bathrooms.

The Y75 is one of the most successful models in the region, with a flybridge that has space aft to fit a crane and store a tender. Another highly popular model is the Princess 88, which is the fifth hull of the model to be sold in Phuket and features an automated balcony by the saloon.

Vrit Yongsakul, Group Managing Director of Boat Lagoon Yachting, said: “As the understanding of yachting develops and become more popular in Asia, people are seeking out quality and luxurious boats. The Y Class has always been popular with our clients in Southeast Asia seeking luxury motor yachts.

“Each model within the range has been designed to suit longer journeys, with guest comfort and exceptional seakeeping a priority. We have seen high demand for Princess Yachts, the leading British luxury yacht brand in recent years. The brand’s reputation for design, engineering and manufacturing excellence has earned global appeal, especially in this region.”

Boat Lagoon Yachting is Princess’s oldest distributor in Asia, having represented the builder since 1994. The company is headquartered in Phuket Boat Lagoon, where it has comprehensive service facilities, while it also has a major office in Singapore.

“With the travel realities we are facing, our owners and many other people are looking forward to starting their boating adventures, where they get to enjoy the peacefulness and tranquillity at sea while being surrounded with their loved ones in a safe environment. It is a great time to explore and rediscover Singapore and Thailand, in privacy and comfort,” Vrit said.

“Thailand is one of the best places to experience life on a yacht. Home to 1,430 islands with beautiful beaches and cruising grounds, it is the perfect yachting destination. Boaters can discover the Similan Islands and the virtually untouched Andaman Islands. Similarly, for many Singaporeans, cruising to the Southern Islands is probably the closest to a bona fide vacation these days where you feel like you are overseas in an island getaway with a tranquil, laidback environment.”
