Tory leadership candidates Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss have agreed to take part in The Battle for Number 10, a live televised special programme on Sky News.

The event – which will be in front of a live audience – will be on Thursday 4 August at 8pm and is to be hosted by Kay Burley at Sky Studios in west London.

The Battle for Number 10, will see the candidates take part in back-to-back questioning from the live studio audience, followed by an in-depth interview with Kay Burley.

It will be broadcast live and for 90 minutes and for free on Sky News channel 501, across Sky News’ digital channels, streamed on YouTube, and simulcast to our IRN Commercial Radio partners.

Sky News presenter Jayne Secker will host two additional special programmes between 7pm-8pm and 9:30pm-10pm, which will feature live guests and expert analysis from Sky News deputy political editor Sam Coates.
