Beck has shared a new cover of Neil Young’s “Old Man,” released to promote the October 2 Sunday Night Football game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs. According to a press release, the line “24 and there’s so much more” in Beck’s context is a nod to both Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes winning Super Bowls when they were 24. Check out “Old Man” below.

Beck’s contribution to the world of sports comes a day after the NFL announced Rihanna as its headlining halftime performer for the 2023 Super Bowl. Since releasing his 14th album Hyperspace in 2019, Beck has collaborated on re-worked material with Natalie Bergman and Paul McCartney. He worked with NASA on a visual counterpart for Hyperspace in 2020. Earlier this year, Beck joined Tenacious D and Dave Grohl to cover Seals & Crofts’ “Summer Breeze” at a Los Angeles benefit concert.
