Independent labels have a legacy of exposing and discovering all the great music of the last century. While it’s not unusual for an independent label to form an alliance with a major label, the poetry of this case is that both Tribeca and Trax are independent labels, promoting different types of music and artists. More so the poetry of this is that Irene Michaels has usually been released as a House Music artist on Trax records, while Randy Edelman, more of a pop artist has usually been released on Tribeca records, both for the past 2 years.

In a quote from Trax President Rachael Cain, “I’ve always believed in Margaret Meads quote about the power of a small group of people to change the world. I’ve experienced that in my life when a group of us kids changed the world with the creation of the house music genre on a small indie label Trax Records. This project was created and produced by several friends, and two labels with the dream of uplifting one another, through their time of need. The outcome of this unlikely pairing is a beautiful inspirational message in a song that certainly gave me the strength that I needed, and we believe will give others courage to come together when the politics of the world are driving us apart.”

John “SohoJohnny” Pasquale President of Tribeca Records added “We have a shared destiny, a shared responsibility to save the world from those who attempt to destroy it. The only thing that we can do to save the world is the reclaiming of the awareness of the world through song in music. I am proud and happy to share the musical inspirations of Irene Michaels, Randy Edelman, and Melle Mel, and honored to be collaborating with Trax records in this endeavor.”

Irene Michaels has covered one of the most inspirational songs ever written, “What The World Needs Now Is Love”, written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and made famous by the iconic singer Jackie de Shannon. This year was a song was inducted into the “US Library of Congress for the preservation in the National Recording Registry. There was never a time that we needed to be reminded of the song’s sentiments than now.

Randy Edelman and Melle Mel, an unlikely collaboration, have released an inspirational global phenomena, words and music by Randy Edelman and the rhyme by Melle Mel in “Everything is Possible.” The song is a tribute to the underdog, the outlander, the dark horse and to those who have a dream.

Irene Michaels has been in the entertainment business all of her life. She metamorphosed from dancer to model to actress with a reoccurring role in the popular soap opera General Hospital and a role in the iconic movie “Killer Klowns from Outer Space.” She is an award- winning equestrian, and the rising star in the music industry.

Randy Edelman is credited for composing over 100 television and film soundtracks, including “Last of the Mohicans”, “My Cousin Vinny”, Ghostbusters ll”, “Dragonheart”, the TV series “MacGyver”, and a marathon of others. He has had a plethora of his songs covered by artists including: Barry Manilow, Patti LaBelle, Nelly, Bing Crosby, Dionne Warwick, Olivia Newton-John, The Carpenters, and a barrage of others.

Grandmaster Melle Mel is a Grammy winner, has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, and was the first rap artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You can hear him on the records of Chaka Khan, Lady Gaga, Cher, Duran Duran, and many others. He starred as the lead singer and song writer for the legendary fraction Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five.

Please join all of them for this epic and historic event as together they drown out the noise of chaos and impose a rhythm upon everything that is bewildered and confused.
