Donald Trump offers supporters ‘a piece of the knockout suit’ he wore at Biden debate | US News

Donald Trump is selling a new collection of digital trading cards, and offering supporters a physical version with a piece of the suit he wore for the debate against Joe Biden that led to the US president quitting the White House race.

Mr Trump announced the America First collection in a video posted to his Truth Social account, explaining that anyone buying 15 will be sent a “beautiful, physical trading card”.

Those cards have a small piece of the suit he wore during the presidential debate with US President Joe Biden embedded within them and Mr Trump has “randomly” autographed five of them, he says.

“They’re calling it the knockout suit,” he says.

Mr Biden’s disastrous performance against Mr Trump at the 27 June debate eventually led to him quitting the race for the White House in favour of US vice president, Kamala Harris.

The cards are $99 (£75) each, and could be gifts for “your family, your kids, your grandchildren”, and are “a piece of American history,” he says.

If you buy 75 cards ($7,425/£5,625) you’ll be invited to a gala dinner with the Republican White House candidate at his country club in Jupiter, Florida, as well as receiving the physical card.

Order 250 cards and you’ll be sent two tickets to the dinner and a cocktail reception and two physical cards, his website says.

“Hurry”, the commercial urges, as they’ll “sell fast”.

Images of the cards are flashed across the screen, including two of Mr Trump holding the US flag, and wearing boxing gloves decorated in US red, white and blue with ‘Trump’ emblazoned on the front.

In others he is pictured in front of a roaring lion and behind a bison and even in a superhero suit holding a bitcoin.

People “are calling him ‘the crypto president,'” he says.

All of the images, which are also displayed on the CollectTrumpCards website, appear to have been doctored to make him look younger and slimmer and in one he has been given biceps a bodybuilder might be proud of.

The final image is an animation of him throwing a punch while wearing the boxing gloves over the message “fight, fight, fight” and the sound of a boxing ring bell.

As he punches, the wording on the glove changes from ‘Trump’ to ‘Knockout’.

An earlier offer enabled people who bought cards to get hold of gold and silver baseball-style shoes and boots.

The advertisement provoked much online anger, with Republicans against Trump commenting on X: “Imagine voting for this fraudster.”

Another X user called him “a con artist and a joke”, asking supporters “why do you continue to send him money??”

A third accused him of treating the suit “like it’s the Turin Shroud”.

There was plenty of humour, too, with several mocking versions showing a muscular Mr Trump topless, wearing skimpy underwear. In others he was pictured alongside the Devil and kissing Vladimir Putin.
