Born Mugisha Barack Donatien in Zambia and moving to the U.S. in 2008, DrippDaDon’s music reflects his journey and cultural influences, seamlessly blending Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Amapiano, and Pop. As a tri-lingual rapper, songwriter, and producer, DrippDaDon has crafted a sound that speaks to both African and American audiences, helping to bridge the growing cultural exchange between the two.
By the age of 16, DrippDaDon was already writing, producing, and engineering his own music, creating a unique fusion of genres that resonated with listeners. His first EP, Sides of Me (2020), became a breakout success, amassing over 687,880 streams within two years. The EP’s blend of vibe-inducing tracks showcased his versatility and caught the attention of African music stars, leading to an opportunity to open for Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz in 2021.
