Two of the planet’s most well respected iconic talents and ultimate music royalty singer/songwriter Tony Orlando and composer extraordinaire Randy Edelman reunite after decades this Saturday night at 10:00 pm EST on Saturday Nights With Tony Orlando featured on 77 WABC Music Radio.

Both Tony and Randy were already accomplished artists early in their teen years but wound up becoming acquainted in the industry while working with Clive Davis at Columbia Records. The rest became ingrained in musical history forever. Tony continued as a songwriter, singer and producer with monster hits including “Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree”, “Candida”, “Knock Three Times”, and a parade of others. Randy’s own recorded pop hits as performed on the British charting show “Top of the Pops” included “Uptown Uptempo Woman”, and “Concrete and Clay.” Randy then went on to write some of the most popular songs ever recorded including “A Weekend in New England” recorded by Barry Manilow, “Isn’t it a Shame”, recorded by Patti LaBelle, “My Place” recorded by hip-hop superstar Nelly, and a barrage of others.

Tony eventually wound up with a hit television show, an acting career as well as the continuation of his singing, song writing and producing vocation, as well as starring as host of his own radio show. Randy took a different path and became one of the top film soundtrack composers of our times, having written the music for motion pictures and television including Last of the Mohicans, Ghostbusters ll, My Cousin Vinny, While you Were Sleeping, the theme for the hit series MacGyver, the theme for the Olympics, and over 100 others. Randy continues to write and record popular global hits and soundtracks for movies including his brand new sensation “The Beast Inside” from the new thriller to be released next year.

When asked about Randy appearing as a guest on his legendary show Tony said “ I am proud to say that Randy Edelman, who has composed the music for some of the greatest and most successful motion pictures of our time will be joining me this Saturday night at 10 PM here in New York City on the most powerful, iconic and most historical radio station in the nation, Music Radio 77 WABC.” He went on to say “Randy Edelman also wrote what I believe is not only one of Barry Manilow‘s most enormous hits, but also is the most beautiful song and recording of his career,  Weekend in New England. I am so fortunate to have Randy share his story with me and our audience and since we stream worldwide everyone  will hear the music of this super talent. We’ve been so blessed having many of Randy’s friends on my show including Clive Davis, David Foster, Michael Omartian, Mike Stoller, and our mutual friend Adam Sandler who had Randy score his iconic comedy Billy Madison. So tune in at 10 PM Saturday night on 77 WABC as we welcome the multi-micaward winning film composer and hit songwriter and artist and my friend.”……
