Link Wray, the late roots rock guitarist, was honored with the Musical Influence Award at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame tonight. Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page honored the late North Carolina-born guitarist, and he made a surprise appearance at the ceremony to perform Wray’s signature song, “Rumble.” Wray also received a video tribute that featured Iggy Pop. Watch the performance below.

Hip-hop innovator DJ Kool Herc also received a Musical Influence Award at tonight’s ceremony at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The main class of 2023 inductees were Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, Rage Against the Machine, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, the Spinners, and George Michael.
