The Superyacht Life Foundation has unveiled details of World Boating Day, its new initiative. A non-profit dedicated to telling the positive stories of superyachting to both change public perceptions and grow the industry, The Superyacht Life Foundation has 27 partners from industry sectors including yacht builders, brokerage houses, design studios and marinas.
For World Boating Day, the organisation is inviting the boating, yachting and superyacht sectors to open their doors and educate the wider public on what boating is, how accessible it can be, the positive impacts the industry can have, and the career opportunities it offers. Over the coming months, The Superyacht Life Foundation will be working to encourage participation from sectors including shipyards, design houses, marinas, yacht clubs, sailing schools and maritime organisations.
Dilan Sarac, Executive Director of The Superyacht Life Foundation, said: “As a global initiative with the aim to create one weekend a year where local, regional and national organisations and companies across the leisure boating, yachting and superyacht sectors can engage with the public, World Boating Day is a potential gateway to growing all levels of the industry, as well as serving as a global celebration of the leisure side of water and the joy of being out on it.
“We see the potential for this initiative to grow exponentially year-on-year, so that all over the world people will be able to learn more about boating and the careers that the marine leisure industry and superyachting offer.
“From sailing schools and clubs offering sessions on sailing dinghies to superyacht builders giving a behind-the-scenes peek at the extraordinary number of trades and craftspeople involved in the industry, this is our chance to show that boating and yachting can be for everyone.”
