Anyone just tuning in to Suits LA with Episode 11 might think the show is a sitcom. For starters, this episode features three sitcom veterans: Patton Oswalt, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Brian Baumgartner. It’s also the funniest episode so far, which is rare for a show focused on law. Stuart Lane (Josh McDermitt) is in full focus, as he gets in trouble with his temper, while also celebrating his bachelor party in the past. The episode is missing a few characters, like Kevin and Leah Power, but otherwise, it’s a great episode.
Stuart Rages With Yvette Nicole Brown
At the start of the episode, Stuart is taking his kids to school and ends up hitting the car in front of him. As it turns out, the car belongs to Yvette Nicole Brown, who says that if he hadn’t been so distracted dancing, he wouldn’t have hit her. Stuart responds by trashing her acting and saying that Community was overrated. Stuart was already in the wrong for yelling at her, but that last comment is egregious.
At the office, Stuart mentions that the person he hit is one of Rick’s clients, and Samantha says Stuart needs to apologize and pay for the damages. Suart, being Stuart, asks Rick to apologize to Yvette Nicole Brown on his behalf. Rick refuses, saying that Stuart needs to apologize himself.
Stuart has a meeting with Yvette Nicole Brown, where he apologizes and calls her a funny actor. However, Stuart’s apology is terrible, and Yvette Nicole Brown calls him out for it. She threatens to leave the firm, and Stuart starts to lose his temper again. He calls her the least-talented actress, jokes at the expense of people who stutter, and then says he should be allowed to make fun of whoever he wants. Yvette Nicole Brown uses this and convinces the school where Stuart’s children go to ban him from going to any events.
When Stuart finds out about this, he goes to Rick, who believes that Stuart’s in the wrong. Rick asks Yvette Nicole Brown what Stuart can do, and she gives three demands: Stuart can’t listen to ’90s boy bands at the school, he needs to write her a poem, and he needs to take an anger management course. When Stuart hears this, he gets upset again, and Rick has to get Ted to calm Stuart down. Stuart tells Ted that he’s been scared for his family ever since a past client threatened him, and Ted gives Stuart a hug.
Ted Helps Patton Oswalt
The flashbacks of the episode reveal more about how close Ted and Stuart used to be. In 2010, Ted and Eddie flew out to Los Angeles to celebrate Stuart’s bachelor party. They go to a karaoke place, where Ted and Stuart sing “Tearin’ Up My Heart” together. While Eddie watches them, Patton Oswalt stands next to him. Eddie recognizes the comedian from Ratatouille and King of Queens, and they start talking. A rude fan interrupts and asks Patton Oswalt for an autograph. The fan starts making fun of Eddie, too, which causes Patton Oswalt to insult the fan. The fan pushes Patton Oswalt, then Ted punches the fan.
While Patton Oswalt recovers, he talks with Ted at the bar. The comedian is a fan of Martin Scorsese and follows mob trials, so he recognizes Ted as the lawyer who took down Pellegrini. Patton Oswalt says if Ted ever takes up entertainment law, he’d love for Ted to represent him. Ted says he’d rather kill himself than become an entertainment lawyer, which is a little harsh. The next day, Ted and Eddie meet Samantha at Santa Monica. While Ted and Samantha talk privately, Ted reveals that his father has been convicted, but he doesn’t plan to tell Eddie.

Sierra says she wanted a role, but her father ruined it, plus he controls her money. Amanda is supposed to get the judge to allow Sierra to use her money to pay for Amanda’s services, but in court, the judge says Amanda will be doing it pro bono.
