Some friendships begin early, grow alongside us, and then become quieter as life changes. Anuya Gawaskar gives that experience a musical voice in “Loose Ends,” her debut single, released October 2 through N.I. Music Group.
Written by Anuya and Danny Jacobson, “Loose Ends” centers on childhood friends who lose touch and find their way back to one another. Its focus is the lasting emotional thread between people: the shared memories that can make reconnection feel possible, even after time and distance.
“‘Loose Ends’ is about those friendships that mean so much, even when life takes people in different directions,” Anuya says. “I hope it brings back memories for listeners and reminds them that reconnecting is always possible.”
In its first week on radio, “Loose Ends” debuted at No. 95 on New Music Weekly’s Hot100 and No. 29 on the Independent Music Network’s Mainstream Top 30. The October 14 report also ranked the single No. 3 among Most Added titles on New Music Weekly’s AC40 and No. 6 among Most Added on National Radio Hits’ AC40. The campaign recorded 10 adds across 10 stations and 88 spins, an increase of 88 spins in week one.
Anuya approaches the track as a performer with a broad creative background. Alongside singing and songwriting, she dances and acts, has performed onstage and competed in performance events, plays three instruments, speaks four languages, and holds a black belt in karate.
For Anuya, the release reflects a larger purpose behind her work: using music and performance to connect with people. “Loose Ends” invites listeners to revisit their own friendships and consider which connections might still be waiting for a second chapter.
