Blending pop, rap, manifestation, and supernatural imagery, SMA introduces the opening chapter of her cinematic love story.
Rising pop artist SMA (Simone Nicole) is inviting listeners into a world where love, magic, and manifestation collide with her new single “VOODOO,” arriving October 31, 2026, at 11:11 PM.
The track serves as the opening chapter of her conceptual EP, VOICEMAILS, revealing the beginning of a romantic journey that ultimately unfolds into heartbreak.
Following the emotional intensity of “Goodnight and Goodbye,” SMA takes listeners back to where the story began. While that earlier song represents the final chapter of a relationship, “VOODOO” explores its intoxicating beginning: the moment when attraction feels almost supernatural.
At its heart, “VOODOO” explores manifestation, romantic attraction, and the belief that people can create the lives and relationships they desire. In the broader context of VOICEMAILS, the song asks whether the love we envision always becomes the love we need.
Where Pop Meets Rap and a Little Magic
Combining layered vocals, fast-paced rhymes, and clever lyrical references, “VOODOO” blends contemporary pop and rap. Its verses weave together magical imagery, nods to SMA’s favorite artists, and the spellbinding sensation of love at first sight.
SMA wrote the lyrics and recorded the vocals herself. The track was produced by The Jokah and mixed and mastered by Richard Baca.
A Cinematic Universe Inspired by Nostalgia and the Supernatural

The forthcoming “VOODOO” music video, to be directed by Kacee Aguirre, draws on 1990s telephone fortune tellers, Bewitched, and classic sitcom aesthetics. Those playful references will contrast with darker imagery, including dark-colored pupils, foreshadowing how the relationship eventually sours and reaches the emotional climax portrayed in “Goodnight and Goodbye.”
Every Song Tells a Story
Every track on VOICEMAILS is planned to receive its own music video, with the full visual collection arriving after the EP release. The connected videos will let audiences experience the story from the excitement of new attraction through its eventual heartbreak.
“VOODOO” represents possibility and the thrill of manifesting love, while “Goodnight and Goodbye” captures the painful reality of letting go. Together, they explore expectations, desire, and personal transformation.
Manifesting a New Chapter
With “VOODOO,” SMA continues to develop an artistic identity rooted in emotional storytelling, genre experimentation, and cinematic visuals. More than a song about falling in love, it explores the power of belief and the lives people imagine for themselves.
“VOODOO” will be available for download October 31, 2026, at 11:11 PM.
