Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Willie Nelson took the stage at Brooklyn’s Barclays center tonight (November 3) for his induction into the institution. After a speech from Dave Matthews, Nelson gave a performance of “Whiskey River” with Chris Stapleton, “Crazy” with fellow inductee Sheryl Crow, and “On the Road Again” with Crow, Stapleton, and Matthews. Check it out below.

Matthews’ speech discussed Nelson’s storied history in country music, the legend of him smoking weed in the White House, the origins of Farm Aid, the outlaw country movement, and much more. The video package for his induction included interviews with his sons, Norah Jones, the late Ray Charles, Stapleton, and more.

In Nelson’s speech, he talked about his love of Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, and Jerry Lee Lewis. “Now that Johnny and I have been inducted, I wanna give a plug for Waylon,” he said, referring to his late friend Waylon Jennings. Nelson was inducted this year alongside Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Sheryl Crow, Rage Against the Machine, and the Spinners. The country icon recently released an album of Greatest Hits to celebrate his induction.

On December 17, CBS will air a taped version of Nelson’s 90th birthday party, which featured performances from Keith Richards, the Chicks, Snoop Dogg, Sheryl Crow, and Chris Stapleton. Nelson’s most recent studio album, the Grammy Award-winning A Beautiful Time, came out last year. He also issued Live at Budokan, which captures his 1984 set at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.
