“It’s a jungle out there!” Imagine the repercussions of the COVID-19 world, and then imagine the brilliant but OCD detective Monk living with them. That scenario in itself should make the upcoming film Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie worth the price of subscribing to Peacock alone, which is where fans can see the follow-up to the television series Monk this December. Yes, the official trailer has dropped, but first check out the logline for Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie. The short synopsis reads as follows:

Monk returns to solve one last, very personal case involving his beloved stepdaughter Molly, a journalist preparing for her wedding.

Now, take a look at what’s in store for Adrian in the trailer for Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie below:

Monk creator Andy Breckman, director Randy Zisk, and executive producer David Hoberman said in a statement via a new press release:

“It’s been nearly fourteen years since the world has seen a fresh installment of Monk. The world has changed mightily in those intervening years and Monk 2023 reflects the changing world. We’re so delighted to have made a movie version of Monk, and we are thrilled that every one of our stars were so enthusiastic about coming back.

But in coming back, we wanted to do a film that was worthy of our legacy. Mr. Monk’s Last Case is a story that is powerful, emotional, funny, heartwarming, and has something to say about the human condition. And it will be both familiar and surprising.”

Shalhoub also picked up a Daytime Emmy in 2019 for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program (Today) for the song “Answer Me” from the musical The Band’s Visit.
