In an array of performances for the wild at heart, globally renowned symphonist Randy Edelman will once again astound the New York crowd at the edgiest night spot Chelsea Table and Stage located at 152 West 26th Street (inside the Hilton Hotel) in the heart of Manhattan on Friday September 22, 2023 at 9:30 PM. From there Randy is off to Arlington Massachusetts via Long Island to be inducted into the New England Music Hall of Fame at the Regent Theater, 7 Medford Street, Arlington, MA., on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 6:00 PM. Randy can also be seen on October 1 at The Boston City Winery.
The summer’s end closes the blazing heat, the scorching skull of the city with its exposed white brain and its heart of nerves which sizzles like the filament inside a lightbulb. Autumn presents the rising winds where the atmosphere is filled with leaves. Fall burns brightly with a running flame of amber….and Randy returns to Chelsea with enchanted moments, vivid memories to be rekindled by intervals of absence.
Randy will showcase a richly woven tapestry in which his music and stories are distilled from his experiences and everlasting visions and career. His poetry holds the enormous and tumbling sphere of human emotions. His music is a place where both grief and grace can live and where both joy and rage can be celebrated.
Randy will be honored by the NEMHOF for his well-deserved contribution to music and to the soundscape of New England with his “Weekend In New England” (recorded by Barry Manilow), and his iconic soundtrack for Ted Turner’s Civil War epic “Gettysburg.”
Responsible for over 100 television and motion picture soundtracks his music is a mirror reflecting every man’s virtue and vice showing up with an unusual clarity. His monumental film scores include: “Last of the Mohicans”, “Dragonheart”, “The Mask”, “My Cousin Vinny”, “Ghostbusters ll”, the theme from the Olympics, the ABC’s hit series “MacGyver”, and a cascade of others. Aside from movies and TV, Randy has written songs for artists including The Carpenters, Olivia Newton-John, Patti LaBelle, Nelly, Bing Crosby, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Willy Nelson, Dionne Warwick, and an unlimited amount of others.
It’s hard to put yourself out there. It’s hard to be vulnerable and sensitive. Randy is one of those people who does just that, a dreamer, a thinker, a creator …one of the enchanted people of the world who open the door to the hearts of others.
“You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star”…. Friedrich Nietzsche.
