Composer, songwriter and solo pianist Randy Edelman will return to The Al Lambert Show for an upcoming taping at the Hilton Garden Inn Staten Island, joining host Al Lambert and co-host Laura Lambert for an hour of conversation and music at the piano.

Randy Edelman Returns to The Al Lambert Show for an Intimate Steinway Session on Staten Island

The episode will be recorded before a small invited audience of about a dozen guests, a setting that puts Edelman where he is most at home: alone at the keys, close enough to the room to talk between songs. He performs solo piano only, with no band, orchestra or backing musicians, and the format of the show gives that approach plenty of space.

Edelman will play a Steinway tuned for the occasion courtesy of Richard and Lois Nicotra, founders of The Nicotra Group and owners of the Hilton Garden Inn Staten Island and the neighboring Hampton Inn & Suites. The Nicotras, longtime friends of Al Lambert, are expected to stop by the taping to welcome Edelman and the guests.

The appearance comes during a busy season for Edelman. His album Green Park has just been released on Cherry Red Records, he plays the Triad Theatre in New York City on October 2 and 3, and on December 19 he brings “American Original,” his solo piano performance, to Carnegie Hall, his third appearance at the hall.

The Al Lambert Show is a long-running Staten Island program produced and hosted by Al Lambert and seen on Staten Island Community Television. Air dates for the Edelman episode will be announced.
